Paper Author – Alan Lauder
Alan was the lead author of the peer reviewed paper, “Offsetting methane
emissions —An alternative to emission equivalence metrics”. It was published
in the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control in 2013.
Alan’s work has been cited by the IPCC.
For a long time, Alan has explained how to reduce methane emissions. In 2008
he wrote the book “Carbon Grazing – The Missing Link”, still compulsory reading
for a course at the Colorado State University. The book contained the chapter
“Carbon Grazing Reduces Methane”.
Alan was invited to speak at the 2010 Deaken Lectures, where the theme was,
“The Climate Change Challenge”. He explained that better management of
“carbon flows” increases landscape health, improves profitability and reduces
methane produced per kg of red meat.
